It bothers us that these kinds of biased, misleading questions are always the first ones raised in conversations about black fatherhood. The query shouldn’t be, “Do good black fathers still exist?” It should be, “Why isn’t the public being made as aware of ‘good’ (engaged, present, supportive, cooperative) black fathers as it is of so-called ‘deadbeats’?”
