“You know, I’ve read things about myself on the Internet where people are saying, ‘Oh, here’s another single mother trying to make it seem okay.’ But I’m not jumping up and down about being a woman in the house alone with a young boy. This is not what I wanted. This is not what John wanted. But it is the way it is. And besides, why would we be in the house and be unhappy? Then what would I be teaching my son? To settle? Why would I ever do that?”
